Francesco Freni

PhD Student in Statistics at the University of Copenhagen

I am a PhD student at the Copenhagen Causality Lab at the University of Copenhagen, affiliated with the Pioneer Centre for AI, and supervised by Sebastian Weichwald and Leonard Henckel. My current research focuses on causality and distribution generalization.

Before starting my PhD, I was a Scientific Assistant at the Seminar for Statistics at ETH Zurich, where I was supervised by Jonas Peters. I hold a Master's degree in Statistics from ETH Zurich and a Bachelor's degree in Statistics from the University of Padova. During my studies and before shifting my focus to causality, I worked on applications of statistics and machine learning in astrophysics, specifically in cosmology and exoplanet science.
